We focus on advocacy: helping you understand the process, prepare your case and make sure your child's needs are properly met.
EHCP requests and plans
From the first request to a plan that's specific enough to be enforced.
We help you ask for an EHC needs assessment, gather the evidence that matters and keep track of the statutory timescales: the council should tell you within 6 weeks whether it will assess, and issue a final plan within 20 weeks of the request.
When the draft plan arrives, we go through it section by section. Vague wording like "access to" or "opportunities for" is hard to enforce; we help you ask for provision that is specific and quantified.
Tribunals and appeals
Calm, organised preparation for the First-tier Tribunal (SEND).
If the council refuses to assess, refuses to issue a plan, or issues one you disagree with, you can usually appeal. You normally have two months from the decision letter, or one month from a mediation certificate if that's later, and in most cases you need mediation advice first.
We help you understand the decision, build your bundle, organise your evidence and prepare for the hearing, so you walk in knowing your case.
School placements
Finding the right setting and making the case for it.
Choosing between mainstream, resourced provision and special schools is a big decision. We help you work out what your child needs from a setting, what to look for on a visit and which questions to ask.
When you've chosen, we help you make the request to name the school, respond to consultation outcomes and plan for phase transfers well before the deadlines.
Meetings and reviews
Someone in your corner at the table.
Annual reviews, school meetings and council meetings can be daunting. We help you prepare what you want to say, set out your evidence and follow up in writing, so agreements are recorded and actually happen.
Every EHCP must be reviewed at least every 12 months. The review is your chance to update the plan; we make sure you use it.
Advocates, not solicitors. We don't give legal advice or represent you as a lawyer would. If your case needs a solicitor, we'll tell you.
